Following up on singles ‘Middle of the Road‘ and ‘Room’, emerging indie-pop artist Chaz Cardigan has released his debut album, Holograma. With that fresh record comes yet another new single ‘Losing Touch’, complete with a digitized music video.
Keeping with the theme of the album, Cardigan is rendered as a performing hologram throughout the video, in which he plays some fierce guitar and sings about the unexpected pain of losing touch with someone important in your life. You might relate it to a former lover, an estranged relative, a mentor, but for Cardigan, it was a childhood best friend.
“This has never happened to me before, but the chorus and the pre-chorus to that song were actually written in my dream. I woke up in this half-awake state and did a voice memo, and it became a song about losing touch with someone who used to be like family to me.”
It’s a bittersweet ode to lost friendship and one that fits in perfectly with Chaz Cardigan‘s pop and rock inspired album. Watch the video for ‘Losing Touch’ below and if you like what you hear, stream the Holograma LP in full here.
