Netherlands-based Dakota return with their blend of alt-indie-pop that has us dreaming of California. Their hazy synths, electronic beats and guitar riffs have us feeling nostalgic for summer already and we look forward to seeing Dakota continue to grow in the underground alt scene in the coming months.

Dakota’s new single Silver Tongue, released by Manimal in late June 2017, is about others having an opinion about your goals, and trying to keep your head up high and your eye on the prize in light of this.

‘There is always that one person in your life that tries to talk down your dreams and goals by saying they’re not realistic. When later that person tries to put it into perspective by saying: “hey, you don’t have to take it from me.” The damage is already done and you feel put down and insecure.’
