Introducing Baba Ganoush with grooving indie track ‘Swimming’ featuring Natalie Duncan

London-based group Baba Ganoush has burst onto the music scene with their debut single ‘Swimming’, featuring the evocative vocals and keys of Natalie Duncan. A ear-turning fusion of musical elements, ‘Swimming’ immediately grabs attention with its infectious drum grooves, intimate bass-lines, and sparkling key chords, all seamlessly woven together into a tapestry of sound that transcends genres. The vocals, delivered with strength and a honey-soaked quality, weave effortlessly with occasional harmonies, creating a lush sonic landscape that resonates deeply with listeners.

The band’s musical prowess is evident in their ability to communicate emotions through their instruments, creating a dialogue that speaks volumes even without lyrics. Even more impressively, this single was birthed in just an hour, a testament to the band’s creative chemistry and their knack for capturing magic in a moment. Recorded in unconventional spaces—living rooms and bedroom wardrobes—it captures the raw essence of their musical journey.

Here they share some more insight into the songwriting process: “We have been playing music together for years but have been intentionally waiting for the right song before doing our first release. We wrote ‘Swimming’ in an hour, and knew straight away it would be our debut single. We recorded it in our friend Pete Beardsworth’s living room. It features singing from the wonderful Natalie Duncan, who recorded her vocals in her bedroom wardrobe. We wanted to record and release this song entirely ourselves, to celebrate and channel the joy we experience when playing music together, for each other.

Baba Ganoush‘s dedication to staying true to their vision shines through in this debut. With an impressive live reputation already in their pocket and the strength of ‘Swimming’ as their introduction, the band is poised to make waves in the music scene. As we await their upcoming releases, this outfit’s fusion of love, groove, and boundless creativity promises to captivate audiences and keep us eagerly anticipating what’s next.
