For those who have never heard of Heartdestroyer who are they and what is their music about?
Capturing that era of the internet and the western world at large, around 2008. More so 1999-2012 but I think 2008 is a sweet spot. Myspace, deviant art, 4chan’s /b/, online gaming, skype and MSN. AOL. Forums. Silly early youtube. i want to bring that feeling back. I want to bring Boxxy back and everything she stood for. That could be my mission with this project but really I am just making what i want to personally hear
What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?
I have accomplishments on other projects that i want to keep anonymous and not sooo connected to this project to give myself freedom to create without any restrictions or influence from an audience. This project is really really new, so the accomplishments right now would be making bangers and having people listen to it haha
What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?
Money issues. I need a label for this project. Preferably a major. Of course
What are you grateful for right now in this moment?
Weed. Family. Nicotine. The internet. Music. Media. Nature. My Mind. My Dog.
There is so much to be grateful for. Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel once said in a song “Can’t believe how strange it is to be anything at all” and that has sat with me ever since. Maybe that defines me a bit. I don’t really care about failing. I’m happy to exist.
Physical copies or streaming sites?
Streaming for now. I would love to do physical copies once I drop an EP or album. I would need a distributer to get on with me for this of course
