Live In Colour mixes ’00s pop-punk & ’80s synth-pop in new track ‘Yes to Me’

If the weight of life has been getting you down lately, then we have just the song to lift your spirits, ‘Yes To Me’ from Jönköping-based Live In Color. This powerful synth-fuelled pop-rock track is all about putting yourself first, even if that means breaking off a relationship, a friendship, or any other connection where your needs are all too often put at the bottom of the list. The Swedish band jump straight into this validating message of self-worth, giving the aura of someone celebrating this monumental decision to move their life forward.

‘Yes to Me’ is a track packed full of positivity, reflected both in the feel-good lyrics and the vibrant instrumentation. To this effect, the band utilises two nostalgic genres; ’00s pop-punk that most likely soundtracked the band members’ formative years and ’80s synth-pop that Sweden was well-know for during that era. What might sound like a chaotic mix comes together with polished finesse as the band deliver fast-paced drums and intricate guitar work that cohesively gels with anthem synths. It’s a sound reminiscent of successful bands like Walk The Moon or Coldplay. While the track is about as catchy as they come, especially with that singalong chorus, a personal highlight for us is the fiery instrumental crescendo.

It’s clear from listening to this single that whether you’re after addictive pop melodies or jaw-dropping riffs, it’s safe to say that Live In Color does it all.
