The Crazy One is the steller debut album from eclectic artist Chloe Mogg

For the first time, we’re featuring Worcestershire talent Chloe Mogg who has built up a stellar reputation in her local music scene and is now set to ripple throughout the rest of the UK (and possibly beyond) with the release of her debut album. Titled The Crazy One, this eleven-track record bridges the genres of alt-rock, blues, folk, indie-electronica and signer-songwriter. You might catch the flavour of some of Mogg‘s key influences, such as Alanis Morissette, Jade Bird and Sheryl Crow, but the artist easily stands out as a unique creative.

As the album’s title might give away, a central theme that runs throughout Chloe Mogg‘s songwriting is mental health, something that’s close to this musician’s heart. It also contains other motifs of heartbreak and discrimination, so there’s something for everyone to relate to.

Some of the songs that typify this gallant mixture of emotional intelligence and stylistic prowess, are ‘Heaven Sent You’ and ‘Better Off’. The first of these, ‘Heaven Sent You’, is both harmonious and hazy; an introspective alt-rock tribute to all those who have supported the artist’s growing career in music. It’s really true that a musician and their audience share a special and often under-appreciated relationship. The newer release, ‘Better Off’, is bolder with powerhouse pop-leaning vocals, gritty guitars and upbeat drums. It was written as an anthem against negativity and you can’t help but feel lighter listening to this standout single.

The Crazy One is the result of six years of hard work and a culmination of a lifetime’s worth of experiences. Engineered and mastered by Alex Vine Ruiz (Swan Studios), the release also features Ali Clinton (Conflict Choir, Bernie Marsden from Whitesnake, Uli Jon Roth), Jack Bowles (Thomas Atlas), George Cook (Thomas Atlas), Mirron Webb (RAIN), and extra special guest Chloe’s father Ian Mogg.

With this debut release Chloe Mogg is poised to make a lasting impact on the music scene with her compelling storytelling and eclectic sound.
