London-based Swedish singer-songwriter SATRE releases ‘Cleanse’

At this time of year, it seems all too natural to turn inwards; we hunker down for the cold and with that comes more time in quiet solitude. During those moments we can grant ourselves new wisdom and an avenue to grow through those shorter, darker days. Nothing is a better companion to self-reflection than music and SATRE‘s newest indie-folk release ‘Cleanse’ offers the space in which to breathe and close out the world for a short while.

Intricately woven out of autumnal tones, earthy textures, heartfelt melodies and upbeat tempo, ‘Cleanse’ envelops the listener in its intimate yet uplifting atmosphere. The Swedish singer-songwriter SATRE‘s light-footed vocals are reminiscent of artists like Bon Iver, Nick Mulvey or JolĂ©. His expressive voice really does sound like a familiar friend, one who is encouraging you to open up and try to figure out who you are. For this songwriter, he especially seems to find joy and a sense of belonging in motifs of nature, like a clear night sky.

Alongside SATRE‘s sincere and inviting voice, his trusty guitar that has kept him company performing on the streets of London adds layers of rich acoustic warmth. The track’s unhurried pace further adds to its organic feeling and sense of grounding that it provides.

You can comfortably place SATRE‘s ‘Cleanse’ alongside any of your favourite indie-folk tracks, as we have done in our Folk This Way playlist.
