Quote Club: LA-based producer, multi-instrumentalist and artist Josh Jacobson has released his stunning new mixtape WAVE

WAVE is all about sharing moments of creative inspiration and collaboration in their purest form, I’ve been collaborating so much this year and diving into some scoring as well, which has led me in some exciting new directions musically. Releasing this collection of songs as a mixtape is a fun way to share another side of what I do, mixing a diverse collection of collaborative songs with instrumentals I’ve made in inspired moments on my own. I’m thankful for the opportunity to share a more experimental project like this, and to feature some of my closest friends in the world on it. From the meditative piano intro of ‘Wave1’ to the cosmically spiritual sounds of ‘BEYOND?’, there is a real focus on sonic storytelling here. I’ve always loved how melodic motifs develop and evolve in classical music and film scores, and that was definitely a key influence while I was putting this project together.” – Josh Jacobson

“I feel that the music I’m sharing comes from this other place I’m just starting to discover, and my highest aspiration as an artist is to continue that discovery process every day so that I can know that place and share it with others. There’s this powerful force that washes over me like a wave sometimes when I’m listening to the music I love or composing something. I don’t know what that feeling is, but I find it more beautiful than anything in this world and I hope to be able to share it with as many people as possible. Though I started everything as a solo project and still get so inspired sometimes when I’m writing alone, it’s really the collaboration with other musicians that has opened me up the most this year! That’s the message I’d like to share with this project, as it’s so symbolic of all of the ways we come together and share positive energy to elevate each other. I hope you enjoy WAVE, I’d love to hear from you and learn where this music takes you!”
