The Manchester-born, London-based musician Tom Sail today releases new single ‘Hold Me Closer’. It’s the third single from his debut album and this one is suitably pensive for these unusual circumstances. The singer-songwriter yearns for a loved one, as many of us may be doing during this time of separation and isolation.
Sail is well aware of the subtly wistful effect his music may have on the listeners. As he says:
“I like to feel melancholic hopefulness in my songs – they are usually sad to a point but not depressing.”
Certainly, the driving chorus, acoustic warmth and joyful indie-rock style lifts ‘Hold Me Closer’, making it a pleasant and reassuring listen for all of you who are missing someone right now.
