Brighton rockers silktape let their emotions fly in ‘Stride’

Brighton-based four-piece silktape recently dropped their debut single ‘Stride’; the perfect introduction to the band as it was in fact the first one they were able to write together in real life.

Like frontman George Clark explains: “Stride is a big one for us as a  band, it’s the first song we wrote together in a room after the pandemic. It therefore made a  lot of sense for it to be the first one we shared with the world. Lyrically and thematically it  covers a lot of the emotions that we as a band went through last year, we hope that listeners  can share those with us. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to play and record music again, this  is only the start of what we’ve got in store for you all this year.”

There’s such a great sense of excitement in the bursting guitars and purposeful percussion that most likely sprang out of this first IRL meet-up in a long time, but it’s also met with a feeling of frustration in Clark’s rallying cry of a voice. It’s pure catharsis.

Undoubtedly, ‘Stride’ is a confident walk towards the future for this young band.
