Deep dive into Holler’s new EP, Ever Since I Met You

Emerging English South Coast indie quartet Holler is stepping into the limelight with their much-anticipated debut EP, Ever Since I Met You. Produced by the seasoned Ben Hillier and mastered by Phillip Marsden, this EP delves deep into Holler’s distinct reverb-drenched indie sound. It’s an all-encompassing collection is a melodic blend of reverb-soaked guitars, earthy basslines, thunderous drums, and velvetine yet melancholic vocals. It serves as a testament to the band’s exceptional songwriting and performance abilities. Throughout the EP, each track tells its own story, with the title-track ‘Ever Since I Met You’ shedding light on frontman Lucas’s mental health struggles, his path to seeking help, and beginning medication.

Providing their own insight into the EP release, Holler excitingly state that, “This is our proudest body of work to date. We felt an opportunity within this EP to express ourselves with a sense of freedom and creativity.”

They certainly should be proud of the EP which has been around a year in the making. Starting in July 2022, the record’s development occurred organically, from the rehearsal rooms where ‘Talk To You’ was born to a few months alter when the emotionally charged ‘Complicated (in a boring way)’. appeared. You’ll hear the subtle, but noteworthy, influences of the band’s favourite inspirations Slowdive, Inhaler, and Swim School. However, Holler stands out as an emotionally insightful and infectiously indie, using this EP to further solidify that ever-growing reputation.

Be sure to look out for Holler‘s upcoming September and October UK dates for an unmissable live show.
