GLISSTER offers a taste of summer’s end bliss with ‘Don’t Think I Am’

Hailing from the musical hub of Nashville, Brandon Highfill has been busy cooking up the most sublime, dreamy and innovative sounds with the wide variety of fellow artists also drawn to the Tennessee city, as well as those from across the world. From this realm of creative kinship, GLISSTER, the collaborative project led by Highfill, releases their latest single ‘Don’t Think I Am’, featuring the bewitching vocals of Tim Yehezkely.

Reminiscent of Men I Trust and Clairo, this track gracefully walks the line between optimism and melancholia. It’s that special mixture of emotions that many of us feel as the summer closes; we might look forward to the seasonal renewal, but that also means letting go of those seemingly endless summer days. As such, ‘Don’t Think I Am’ cautiously sets out with a delicate array of steady percussion, slinking bass, cinematic strings, and what sounds like a Casio keyboard preset loop. Over this soundscape, Yehezkely‘s breathy vocals float, providing a soothing reminder, “it’s not impossible, no matter how it seems, it’s not impossible, chase after your dreams.”

‘Don’t Think I Am’ is designed to leave you with that sense of hope even after the song’s end and if you ever need a little optimism recharge, you now know where to find GLISSTER.
