There are ‘Better Days’ ahead with Mary And The Sharks

In our fast-paced, chronically online world, it’s so essential to take a moment to breathe, to be present in the moment, and allow the chaos to drift into the background. Sometimes we need a little nudge to get into that headspace, and so we’ve hand-picked a track for just that purpose. Mary And The Sharks‘ recent single ‘Better Days’ is a soft and shimmering exhale that temporarily suspends time under its indie-pop spell.

Built on waves of melodic synths, earthy guitar lines and subtle percussion, ‘Better Days’ taps into that introspective, somewhat melancholic state of mind. This restless thoughtfulness carries through into the lyrics, such as “I can barely see what is meant to be” and “I’ve seen better days.” Although a little sombre, this track isn’t without hope, as the cinematic crescendo indicates – there are also better days ahead.

Somewhere in-between M83, Beach House and CHVRCHES, ‘Better Days’ is a quiet, magnetic anthem for anyone who needs a little encouragement finding some peace. If this track was your cup of tea, then be sure to look out for Mary And The Sharks‘ upcoming EP, Prophecy.
