Introducing heavyskint’s controlled chaos on ‘When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?’

Introducing heavyskint, the Glasgow-based band who have all the makings of being the next big thing out of this Scottish music metropolis. What started as a bedroom side project in 2024, the current line-up came into being last year and with that soon followed their debut single ‘Vice’. Now in 2026, it seems that heavyskint is ready to pick up the pace with their recently launched sophomore track ‘When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?’, which is a notably dark and weightier turn.

With Jacob Hunter‘s unparalleled drawl and his exposing songwriting at the helm, ‘Jesus’ (as we’ll call the track in short-hand) pulls out all those feelings of unease and discomfort in a sonic exorcism of sorts. Produced by Arran Black, the soundscape matches Hunter‘s scrappy vocal performance with a desperate, clawing energy. The distorted guitars rattle around a metaphorical cage, the bass-line pulses with a heated danger and the drums are stuttering and unrelenting force.

The whole construction lends itself to that idea of calling for oblivion, or salvation, or simply a change to the current state of things. heavyskint‘s frontman Hunter allows us to peek further behind the curtain with this statement:

“‘When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?’ is a cry for help. Crying out wondering why the most important people in your life aren’t there for you. I later learned that they weren’t properly equipped to give me the help I needed and that I had to seek support from people that had been through similar struggles. That hopelessness and realisation is what the track is about.”

‘Jesus’ is a track about being beaten but not defeated; it’s a fighting spirit that defines Glasgow’s unique indie scene and one that we look forward to hearing from heavyskint much more in the future.
