‘South of Seattle’ is Misha Fair’s love letter to music

Misha Fair is a promising singer-songwriter who seems to go from strength to strength with every track release. We’re hopping on the band wagon for her fifth single ‘South of Seattle’, which is a warm, textured and heartfelt taste of her modern americana sound. Thematically, it’s a convergence of three aspects of life that are especially close to Fair‘s experience: an enduring love of music, the magic of live performance and all those connections, both with her audience and fellow creatives, made along the way.

There is a genuine warmth and vulnerability to the songwriting, which captures the wonderment and uncertainty of Fair‘s early years on the gig and songwriting circuit. She very much reflects on the past, with a quiet nostalgia, but despite the song’s tender atmosphere, this isn’t about longing for something long gone. Instead, Fair uncovers an excitement for what’s still to come in her career.

Produced alongside Jason Wyatt of WeThePeople Music Productions, with contributions from accomplished Nashville session musicians, the arrangement provides a spacious musical backdrop that allows Fair’s vocals and storytelling to take centre stage. ‘South of Seattle’ is all about the importance of following a passion, appreciating those who share the journey and never losing sight of what first inspired you.

With a rich tapestry of americana, country, folk, bluegrass, soul and rock influences, Misha Fair‘s has deep roots in musical traditions, but growing out from that is the artist’s blossoming sonic identity.
