As the progress of globalization continues, we’re able to gain a greater understanding of different cultures, countries, and more importantly for us, music scenes. We’ve come to know South Africa as a hot bed for musical diversity, whether that be house music, hip-hop, indie-rock or pop; there’s something for everyone. One new discovery that came to us recently is Yum Yuck, the bedroom-pop artist whose psychedelic flair and catchy hooks in his single ‘Setting Sun’ have had us enthralled.
Rather appropriately for a song that sounds like warm sunrays on a lazy sunday afternoon with your headphones in, ‘Setting Sun’ belongs to a wider project called Orange Sunshine. From what we cal tell, it’s golden hour tunes all the way. We really can’t wait for the arrival of Yum Yuck’s record later this year.
‘Setting Sun’ was written and produced by Yum Yuck, aka Pascal Rrighini, with production assistance from Joshua Berry (HONEYMOAN, Twin Weaver) and Thor Rixon.
