Back in August, we covered Attawalpa‘s single ‘Done Hanging On’, a song about “Self-preservation, performing, connection and healing” according to the band. What we found was a slice of pleasurably melodious melancholic indie that tapped into the mid-year fatigue so perfectly.
Now, the band is back with a surreal and dream-like sequence of visuals that keep in time with the song’s buoyant rhythms.
Attawalpa share the idea behind this creative vision: “Visually, I wanted something in between Duncan Trussel’s fantastic Midnight Gospel and the episode of The Simpsons where Homer eats the psychedelic chilli and Johnny Cash guides him through his trip as a coyote. ‘The Mysterious Voyage Of Homer’. I feel Joe and Alex are so talented and incredible to work with, whenever I speak to them I feel like we are Gods in our temple making worlds.“
