Stoke-on-Trent band Psyence unleash belting indie-rock track ‘Retrospect’

Psychedelia, rock, big old tune, voyage through space and time; these are all terms that can be used to describe the belting new track from Stoke-on-Trent band Psyence.

The sound of single ‘Retrospect’ lies somewhere between math-rock and English indie, with a little bit of mortal rock thrown in there for good measure. The pacing of this track is also something quite special. At times, the tempo sways with those melancholic indie melodies, while at other times, the track charges ahead in fury. Perhaps this constantly changing soundscape relates to the unpredictability of life; jam-packed with simultaneous beginnings and ends.

As the band say, “Everyone gets down, everyone gets fed up, but this is an anthem to make you think back and realise, it’s not all that bad. A bitter end can also be a new beginning.”
