For those who have never heard of Ready, Steady Die!, who are they and what is their music about?
We are a British-American electropop duo. Our music genre is darkwave, electropop.
What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?
I think the two albums that we’ve released in the past two years have culminated in a very rewarding body of work we’re both very proud of.
What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?
We’re creative artists and we are also over the age of 30, which means we have the challenge of trying to be as excited about social media and marketing as we are about our music. I’m afraid that is our biggest challenge.
What are you grateful for right now, in this moment?
That we are both in a part of the world (London and New York) where we’re not being made to leave our home to fight or flee a war. That we have some element of ‘norm’ which means we have the space to still be creative.
Physical copies or streaming sites?
As per one of the previous questions; physical without a doubt. So many elements are behind the end product for an album, and cover art, which is the front door to the music should have the space to inspire rather than a teeny weeny square on a computer. I (Sam) also like to feel and read a physical book rather than a kindle. Sorry, probably showing our age again.
What is your most played song of 2021?
Sam: Leave the door open (Silk Sonic). Just loved it.
Morgan : Low – Days Like These. It’s so unlike anything else out there.
A playlist you can’t get enough of?
Morgan: Shamelessly, ours but only because it’s full of our favorite new music. We’ve cut back on Spotify since the whole Joe Rogan bit but we’re adding videos to this all the time. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAg-zSyngxh9zFvWQsr83M3GuJ3hLJBcl
A dream collaboration?
Thom Yorke.
& Lastly, what can fans expect from Ready, Steady, Die! this year?
Probably another album.
