Hey Iris, thanks for speaking to us. Could you tell our readers something about yourself that they might not find out otherwise?
I have a crazy tea obsession! I have almost every flavour. My favourite is roibos and honeybush. I have an eclectic tea set collection and sometimes I have tea parties with real humans and invisible.
How has 2018 been treating you so far?
So good! I just dropped My “interlude” EP/mixtape produced by my favourite producers The confect. And my saucy video for “The Fruits”. I have had so many amazing experiences. Like two days ago I performed at the Gaffa Awards (danish music award show) and in two days time I’ll be in Oslo performing at By Larm Festival.
What were your particular highlights from last year?
Finding out I was to play Roskilde Festival which was a childhood dream of mine and also signing to Playground Records.
Goldmine, your debut, is approaching 200,000 Spotify streams. Did you have any expectation of that kind of success?
No not at all. I wrote that so fast and the producer Dan who had never produced Hip Hop before, so we were just vibing and having fun. I didn’t know if anyone would like it tbh.
Since then, you’ve accrued around a million total Spotify streams. Do you consider streaming whilst you’re writing and producing a track?
No haha. Maybe I should.
Tell us a bit about ‘The Fruits’ and what it draws upon.
It is supposed to make you feel like the scene from coming to America, where Eddie Murphy meets his bride to be for the first time. You know with all the dancers! It’s supposed to be sexy and fruity, like a ripe mango.
Could you give us some background on the video; the concept and the shoot?
My homie Issam Talib wanted to play with the textures of skin, light and water to create a kind of seductive sweaty tribalistic vibration.
What do fans have to look forward to over the next few months?
I’ll be dropping my next official single and I’ll be starting my tour “mango Peaches and lime”.
