Lissy Taylor makes her powerful entrance with ‘Mayday’

Listening to the subtle Americana vibes, rock riffs and sing-a-long pop melodies, it may surprise some people to hear that Lissy Taylor is actually from Stoke-On-Trent. However, it wasn’t indirect absorption of American music that shaped this impressive young songwriter, it was her fortunate immersion in life in Kentucky throughout her teen years. Through this, and Taylor’s consistent determination to develop her craft, ‘Mayday’ sounds is an authentic mix of US and UK styles and no doubt a breath of fresh air to the North West region.

Speaking about this fiery debut single, Lissy Taylor says:

“When I wrote Mayday I was fighting an internal war. I felt hopelessly misunderstood and alone.  I think there is a strength in recognising that everyone has their own struggles that aren’t always visible. Writing Mayday helped me understand my own struggles with mental health and I hope it will help other people in the same way.”
