Sometimes you can’t explain what it is that draws you to another person, it’s as though invisible forces are pulling each of you towards one another. This seemingly otherworldly experience is the one that sits at the heart of ZELAH’s new single ‘Static’.
Here, vocalist Zelah Van-Gowler speaks about the magic behind love connections:
“It’s like that unspoken magnetism towards a person that just completely captivates you for a certain time, and you can’t quite pinpoint what it is about them. You’re left wondering if they felt that same thing or maybe it’s all in your own head (and sometimes it is), but there’s just something extremely magical about it.”
ZELAH allow this magic to come to life through minimalist lines of dream-pop melodies, intricate guitars and a delicate production.
While the pair of Zelah and Elliot didn’t make a romantic connection, they did kindle that creative spark while both studying in England’s South West region, bonding over their love for artists like BANKS, London Grammar and Lorde.
