Introducing essential new name to the Irish indie-pop scene – Saige. This newcomer describes her self-developed style as baroque-pop, blending the alt-pop that she loved as a teenager with her musical inspirations today, following the path of the likes of Lykke Li and The XX.
We hear this come through Saige‘s touching new single ‘Mama’. It’s a vulnerable piece of songwriting that takes the idea of hitting rock bottom and reaching out to a mother figure for help, stretching it over three minutes and thirty-nine seconds of gossamer pop.
As Saige describes it, ‘Mama’ is “an introspective delve into a mind that is feeling isolated and vulnerable.”
