For those who have never heard of alexdrake. before, who is he and what is his music about?
I am a very spiritual, outgoing person. I tend to put others ahead of myself. I focus tenfold on growing as an individual in thus creating positive change for those around me. I strive for happiness, peace and positivity as much as I possibly can. With all th external stressors we have in today’s day and age, all we can do is be kind to ourselves and mitigate any additional stress we have control over. My music is simply expressionistic of all the musical genres and styles I’ve grown to love and reflect over the years. My creative process doesn’t stick to one genre truthfully, if something is catching my ear I will expand on it whether that is dance music, disco, rock, alt, indie, punk, hardcore… anything. I like to use my music as a means to express freely with no confinement and I hope that’s what I broadcast with my sound.
What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?
I believe the most rewarding/enjoyable highlight of my career has been to simply create things with people I admire and to continue to learn and evolve as I am exposed to more musical influences. The entire creative process has truly been the highlight of my career and what is awesome about that is it is always changing.
What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?
I can confidently say a challenge has been writing everything on my own. I come from a world where I was always one member of a band and we all wrote music and parts together. It took me a long time t get comfortable writing guitar parts, bass, parts, keys, percussion, melodies, lyrics, all the above. It has definitely been worth it to fight through these challenges but I would definitely say that was a hard part for me as a songwriter.
What are you grateful for right now in this moment?
Life and the ability to pursue what my heart desires… music.

Tom Petty or Jackson Browne hand’s down are two of my all time favorite songwriters. From a more recent perspective, I’d say Sam Fender. I admire his work as a solo Rock based artists right now.
& Lastly, what can fans expect from alexdrake. in the coming year?
Fans can expect more music for sure, maybe even a full band and given things open up most definitely some local shows in the Los Angeles region until we go on tour.
