‘Rainy Days’ from rising Toronto star Mighloe is a lofi R&B vibe. From the syncopated beats to reverb rich guitars to Mighloe‘s honeyed vocals, the whole thing is simple dripping in sensual energy emphasized by the steamy production from Late Night Drive and Dean Vision.
As such, the themes of love and infatuation are not lost on us as the singer enticingly tempts, “You got what I want, I know what you need baby.” The interesting thing here is that the return of amorous attention is not guaranteed, as Mighloe explains:
“‘Rainy days’ is about opening yourself up to requited love! A love that goes both ways. It’s sweet and sexy and drenched in obsession. It’s about begging for the rainy days, for the sorrows because in those desperate times, when we are weak; is where our love is the strongest.”
‘Rainy Days’, along with other recent release ‘Don’t Call Me’, will feature on Mighloe‘s new project, Desperate Times, which will mark her third independent EP release and the first that will be licensed and supported by Toronto based record label Public Records Inc.
