Adria Kain can do it all. She can sing, produce, song write, take her own press shots and even portray the fresh-looking paramour in her own music videos. And now this R&B ploymath is back with another new track from her upcoming album. Latest release ‘Ocean (Reprise)’ is a sweet and soulful serenade that has been given a sophisticated makeover since the original version was released back in 2015.
Over heavily-reverberated guitars and minimalistic synths, Kain muses on her creative and personal journey in her refined soulful voice. She wears the knowledge of her experience well, translating them into expressive lines that range from tranquil to impassioned.
Speaking about how this song has evolved over the last six years, the Toronto artist shares:
“It’s beyond me how this song came full circle. I remember where I was in life when I first wrote it years ago. I knew it was a good song, not quite my favourite, but it had an important message that I think even went over my own head. I wrote it from a place of sadness. I wanted to create a voice for myself. One that I could run to whenever there was no one else. One that would create a platform big enough for me to exist in without boundaries, like the Ocean, because what’s bigger than that really.”
As mentioned before, ‘Ocean (Reprise)’ will featured on Kain‘s ablum, When Flowers Bloom, slated for release on 28th January 2022.
