A centrepiece into the works of DIY, Nora Lilith finally reaches the top of her debut EP DAYSOF8 – a body of work that entails the stories of symbolisation, reflection and the otherworldly.
Grown-up through the ranks of Berlin, Germany and Austin, Texas, Lilith now finds herself influenced by her connection to mythology and the nature of her own identity – impacted into the six-track project of DAYSOF8. With a sense of no boundaries and freedom, Lilith shares her life through specifically chosen lyrics that delicately weave through an expansion of sounds of R&B, lo-fi bedroom pop and glitter of jazz.
Entailed with tracks such as ‘Misfed’, ‘Daysof8’ and her latest ‘Wake’, Lilith shares the aspects of every corner of life. From the self-discovery and exploration of one to traits of her past, listeners delve into the tales that resonate yet feel far away from anyone else.
Speaking about her latest work, Lilith added, “This EP to me feels like an assortment of sonic experiments and inner world reflections. I feel like the energetic range of these tracks is a direct outcome of the varying timelines these tracks were created on, some very old and some newer, and some written on the same day. Overall, these songs lyrically all share an element of malaise while instrumentally expressing both a sanguine yet broody attitude. That juxtaposition feels connected to what I’ve mentioned in my bio; the symbol of Lilith and how it, to me, represents a regaining of strength in what would otherwise be considered darkness.”
With finding comfort in the approach she journeys, Nora Lilith continues to go from strength to strength as each day takes her to new surprising beginnings and DAYSOF8 is no different.
