On The Record: XTIE

How would you summarise the essence of your sound?

The use of sound design, recorded and inspired by the nature, with taking my very own vocal chops to create a unique soundscape, fuses with my persona storytelling.

What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?

The biggest challenge – I would say it’s an “opportunity” as an independent artist, you get to do it everything on your own, from music to promotions, radio spin pitching, budgeting, networking, sometimes I feel it drains out my energy from producing music.

What are you grateful for right now in this moment?

I am grateful I still enjoy making music. Sometimes the journey is really hard, like you worked really hard for the track, spent loads, but turns out it is still less than 1,000 play on Spotify.

Do you prefer physical copies or streaming sites?

I would definitely go for physical copies, it feels nostalgic, and I like having something to hold on hand, can have the artist to sign on the cover, I could feel the human touch.

What is your most played song of 2021?

Anchor – Novo Amor

How about an album you can’t get enough of?

Troye Sivan – Bloom

And lastly, what can fans expect from the project for the rest of the year?

New single out in early Dec! I will then take a break, gain back my energy, watch shows and theatre, and then finish some tracks. Looking forward to 2022!
