What’s On: Wembley Park’s International Busking Day @ June 16th

This June 16th at London’s Wembley Park, the International Busking Day will take over for an unmissable day of 120 live acts, from major artists right on through to local grassroots acts. It’s a day like any other as it celebrates the gauntlet of busking, something that can make or break a fledgling performer.

Hosted by Busk in London, this is the event’s 7th year and it gets backing from the Mayor of London alongside a strings of well-known ambassadors like Nile Rodgers, Seal, KT Tunstall, Fatboy Slim, Jack Savoretti, Abbie McCarthy and many more. Some of those names are in fact past headliners and below you’ll find a list of what you can look forward to at the 2022 event.

The Shires is a UK duo who are at the forefront of British-based country and americana right now. Here’s one of their newest, guitar-led renditions ‘I See Stars’.

Seth Lakeman is a Mercury Prize-nominee who is resurrecting the long tradition of British folk music for a modern day audience. Here we see that intersection in a live performance of ‘Lady of the Sea’.

Stringfever are true to their name as a string quartet who bring a lively sense of fun and excitement to this classic formation. Below is one of their well-known sets for ‘After Dinner Cabaret Show’.

Gasper Nali will make any audience member at the Busking Day smile from ear to ear with his joyful portrayal of Malawian instrumentation and sun-soaked melodies. Not one to miss!
