For those who have never heard of Lorelei Marcell who is she and what is your music about?
Hi! I’m a 20 year old singer songwriter and artist. I grew up in the suburbs of Boston and after graduating from public school, I made the move to LA. I’ve been at it ever sense. The way I’d describe my music is honest, bittersweet, dreamy pop, with a touch of alternative R&B.
What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?
Honestly learning about myself as an artist, and about the industry as a whole. It’s so satisfying to see the personal growth I’ve been able to make, while simultaneously realizing there is so much more to unpack and learn. I love the feeling of not knowing because of all the excitement around it. A specific highlight though, would probably have to have been playing a show at the troubadour. That was so surreal.
What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?
I’d say trying to separate myself from the art and my career. I often find it all encompassing and difficult to think about other things or hobbies, but I think that comes from a place of love and care. It truly is my passion and something I will never give up. Also the demand for content and the competition can be overwhelming at times.

What are you grateful for right now in this moment?
I’m grateful for my family, friends, and the position I’m in to have a career like this. Recently one of my close friends lost their mom to cancer, so I’ve been thinking a lot about how volatile life is more than ever. Having gratitude and being kind are the two most important morals I hold, so I love this question.
Physical copies or streaming sites?
Hmm. I’d say physical copies. I recently got a record player so I’ve been using it non. stop. It’s so exciting to have a physical copy of your favorite album. I’m also in the process of designing vinyl for my upcoming album Bittersweet Stages, so it’s been on my mind a lot. I do love Spotify though…
What is your most played song of 2022?
My most played song was ‘In a Stranger’s Arms’ by Leon :,)
A playlist you can’t get enough of?
I have this playlist called Cold Creeky Floors, and it has a ton of 60s/70s blues and jazz on it. I’ve been listening to it non stop!!
A dream collaboration?
Daniel Caesar or pop singer Léon 🙂
& Lastly, what can fans expect from Lorelei Marcell This year?
I’m releasing an album at the end of April!! I’ve been working on it for over a year and a half so I’m so excited to put it out. I also plan to release more music this summer too.
