LED make their debut with youthful rebellion in ‘Lies All Lies’

‘Lies All Lies’ is a blistering, emotionally-charged track which sounds like the fully realised vision of a band who have been honing their craft and chemistry for years. What might surprise you is that this is the debut single of teenage indie pop-rock trio LED. Comprised of Layne Olivia, Lockett and Edie Yvonne, the three teenage musicians met at a film camp in Malibu last summer, where they penned this track for a short movie. Realising that they’d landed on something special, LED was formed.

As you’ll hear, ‘Lies All Lies’ is packed with youthful rebellion, from the fuzzed-out guitars to the driving percussion to the bold, unfiltered vocals. One can’t help but think of well-known bands in their early years, like Paramore, The Cranberries or No Doubt, yet LED put their own stamp on their sound. The originality of Layne Olivia and Edie Yvonne swapping back-and-forth vocally is an inspired touch. Lockett‘s powerful musicianship, which imparts a rising sense of urgency, is an essential element.

With this debut, LED doesn’t overstate themselves, instead they make a confident first impression built on a shared joy of songwriting which shines throughout everything they do in this track. Without further ado, get ready to crank up the volume and blast this explosive, aching energy of ‘Lies All Lies’.
