On The Record: COLL

on

For those who have never heard of COLL before, who is he and what is his music about?

I’m a Rapper / producer and my music is about self positivity, determination and motivation and I always try to make sure this comes across in everything I do.

What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?

I think the most rewarding highlight of my career was getting funding from Arts council England to set up my own events and setting up free studio time for other artists through Pirate studios just because it impacts not only me but others around my city and beyond.

What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?

Staying positive and staying motivated even through the bad times. Setting up my own events was a challenge at the start and getting my music out there being from a small city like Norwich. Overall I think we have managed to do well.

What are you grateful for right now in this moment?

I am grateful for my family, my partner and my 2 kids as they give me constant motivation and keep me humble and I can always be myself around them.

Physical copies or streaming sites?

Physical copies, I like to see and feel what I’m buying.

What was your most played song of 2020?

Most played song of 2020 was Rockstar. It did better than I thought when I made it and it was nice to see that.

A playlist you can’t get enough of?

Mmm, Im listening to This is Black eyed peas Transaction/ album on spotify right now, every song seems to be catchy and I love what they do.

A dream collaboration?

Easy… Jay Z…. jigga what, jigga who.

& Lastly, what can fans expect from COLL in the coming year?

This year I’m looking to have some fun, so expect more fun music videos and I’ll be releasing my Blue Magic 3 mixtape this summer. I will be going on a 5 / 7  day tour towards the end of the year as I have missed performing live to actual people so looking forward to that.

Thank you so much for having me.
