For those who have never heard of Alice Osian, who is she and what is her music about?
I’m an independent artist from Santa Barbara, CA, currently residing in Los Angeles! My music is mostly autobiographical dark dream pop/ alt rock.
What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?
I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with strangers as well as reconnecting with people I haven’t heard from for a while because of the music I’ve put out. Hearing that it has helped someone through a tough time or that it’s something they enjoy singing along to is all I can ask for and gives me purpose.
What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?
Imposter syndrome is always a fun one haha but I think as an independent artist, it can be a challenging feat to get your music out there and heard. I spend a lot of time yelling into what feels like an endless void.
What are you grateful for right now in this moment?
I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve come across and people I’ve met while creating these songs and my music video for “Painkiller”. It’s all felt very conducive to building the life I want and I’m happy that I’m able to carry on as a multi faceted freelance artist.
Physical copies or streaming sites?
While I love how accessible streaming has made music, I’ve gotta go with holding that LP in your hands.
What is your most played song of 2023 so far?
“Dig Your Hips” and “Ma Likes to Drink” by The Bobby Lees as well as “Crude Drawing Of An Angel” by Caroline Polachek have been on repeat for me recently.
A playlist you can’t get enough of?
My friends and I recently contributed 3-5 songs to a playlist for our friend’s cross country road trip. I think it’s a great representation of all of us, I listen to it often.
A dream collaboration?
I’d love to create a slinky sad girl track with Alexandra Savior.
& Lastly, what can fans expect from Alice Osian this year?
Now that my EP is out, I’ll be playing some shows and releasing a music video in a few weeks! It’s also on my list to write and record more this year.
