On The Record: Salvation Jayne

on

For those who have never heard of Salvation Jayne, who are they and what is their music about?

Hey, so we are a 5 piece alternative rock band from Kent & London with big fuzzy riffs & emotive vocals mostly writing songs about dark narcissistic characters.

What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?

Recording with Sylvia Massey was amazing but I guess the biggest highlight of our career together was recording our album at the legendary Rockfield studios in Wales. It was so dreamy to be there!

What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?

I guess the music industry is a challenge in itself but trying to be original against an industry that wants you to be pigeonhole-able has been frustrating. We want to create something new and fresh with multiple influences in there from each individual in the band. We don’t want to create something that’s already out there just because we know it sells.

What are you grateful for right now at this moment?

Surviving covid and managing to finish our album through this pandemic. Creating our own Patreon really helped us out to try & get us back on our feet financially. So grateful for those who helped us in a time where everything was so unsure.

Physical copies or streaming sites?

You can’t beat physical copies! The lyric booklet with all the photography & artwork…. You just can’t beat that! It’s so amazing that vinyl has come back too for the same reason plus the old school vibe takes me back to my childhood. Streaming is great as you can find so much endless music in a second

What is your most played song of 2021?

Violent Silence, the first single off the back of our album has done amazing. It was the first release when things started opening back up so we had no idea how it was going to go. It was our little firecracker tune from the album we hoped would hit hard in people’s face. Thankfully it did just that!

A dream collaboration?

Chess 100% would love Chris Martin!
Dan’s dream collab would be Robert Smith.
Tor’s would be Travis Barker
Holly’s would be Simon Neil. Genius guitarist and songwriter.
Erim would be Bombay Bicycle Club.

& Lastly, what can fans expect from Salvation Jane for the new year?

Well expect our debut album ‘A Mouthful Of Magnificent Spite’ on Feb 18th and a UK tour to follow next year. Hoping for an amazing year. Fingers & toes crossed!
