For those who have never heard of almost sex, who are they and what is their music about?
We are a couple of independent artists making music together in New York City. Our music can be about love, life, struggles, and everything in between.
What has been the most rewarding/ most enjoyable highlight of your career so far?
We sold out our first show recently when we celebrated the release of our debut EP at The Nest in Brooklyn. That was a major achievement for us.
What have been some major challenges in your music career so far?
Over the past ten years, Nick has been in a couple different projects before starting almost sex. It was frustrating to get close to success by signing small production, management, and recording deals without ever crossing the finish line. Now, we are looking at things from a much more DIY point of view and have found more success in this arena thus far.
What are you grateful for right now, in this moment?
Each other, our loved ones, and everyone who is continuing to support our music.
Physical copies or streaming sites?
At this point, we don’t really have the funds or following to make physical copies very feasible, so streaming sites for now.
What is your most played song of 2022 so far?
Warren has been loving the single “The Actor” off the new alt-J album.
A playlist you can’t get enough of?
We love checking out the editorial playlists DailyPlaylists come out with, and we’re incredibly honoured to see they added our single “Lucille” to their Indie Daily playlist.
A dream collaboration?
I think it would be amazing to be able to make a beat for Kendrick Lamar.
& Lastly, what can fans expect from almost sex this year?
Hopefully another EP!
